Quality management system

The main goal of quality management system of the Central Geological Laboratory is continual improvement of quality management and organization, permanent increase of quality of analytical work and to provide customers with reliable test results.

IMPLEMENTATION PRINCIPLES

  • To follow Government`s Program, policy and intends for development of geological investigations in Mongolia and customers requirements;
  • Every employee should follow a principle "Quality-effectiveness";
  • To use statistical methods as control charts to detect analytical errors;
  • To organize quality management system and quality assurance work according to requirements of related standards and documents
  • To permanently develop and upgrade test methods;
  • To prevent from violate requirements and regulations of Quality manual, documented procedures, institutional rules and other relevant laws and acts;
  • To permanently execute external and internal quality control on analytical work and to take immediate corrective actions, when nonconforming work has been identified;
  • To comply instruments and devices with reliable and normal operation condition, to upgrade them according to modern circumstances;
  • To conduct external and internal audits periodically and in accordance with predetermined schedule; to permanently extend national and international accreditations for every 5 years;
  • To participate in proficiency testing programs for laboratories and to make conclusions;
  • To improve personnel qualifications and knowledge continuously.
  • To involve all staff members in professional responsibility insurance.

QUALITY MANUAL

The Quality manual of the Central Geological Laboratory is the top document of laboratory`s quality management system that complies with requirements of international standards ISO 9001:2000, MNS ISO/IEC 17025:2007 and MNS ISO/TR 10013:2001. It consists of 35 chapters and 7 annexes.   

DOCUMENTED PROCEDURES

The "Quality management system procedures" of the Central Geological Laboratory is being implemented that consists of 26 procedures (BST P 01:2003-BST P 26:2003) covering all kinds of laboratory activities, for instance document control, planning of internal audits, measures to improve quality of analytical work, quality assurance/quality control measures, personnel qualification, organization of utilization and maintenance of equipment and instruments, work safety etc.

QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL OF ANALYSIS

  • Quality of laboratory analysis is defined and verified by external and internal control. It is controlled by analysis of certified reference materials and repeated analysis of internal control samples.
  • Repeated analysis is done for 10-30 % samples for quantitative analyses and 3-10 % for semi-quantitative analyses, and precision is checked.
  • Quality and reliability of analyses is checked by regular participation in international (GeoPT, APLAC etc.) and national (MASM) proficiency testing programs and making conclusions in own performances.
