The CGL was established in 1957, has an experience of about 50 years, and is a financially independent state organization.

The CGL is a professional organization that performs the most of laboratory analytical works to geological research organizations and foreign investment companies within a platform of Mongolian government; and determines elemental and chemical composition, structure and physical and mechanical properties of mineral resources.

The CGL staff consists of over 120 employees. About 70 percent of them are professionally skilled and experienced engineers with high qualifications, who graduated from national and foreign universities and colleges and have been working for many years.

The CGL has established contacts with professional organizations of over 10 countries. Nowadays in the frame of projects of IAEA, JICA and Government of FRG it is collaborating on innovation of laboratory equipment and methods and on personnel training. The CGL belongs to the Ministry of Industry & Trade, is a customer-reliable partner, internationally accredited organization authorized to carry out expertise analysis.
