Mineragraphical description

Mineragraphical description describes ore minerals using microscope with reflected light. It is important for substantial study of ores and investigation of ore concentration products of deposits, i.e. microscopic description of ores plays important role in choice of mineral processing techniques of ores and monitoring of concentration process.

Depending on customer`s request we perform brief and complete mineragraphical descriptions.

Complete mineragraphical description includes:

1)   Opaque minerals (ore minerals) composition by their content

2)   Description of each opaque mineral:

  • Form and size of each mineral
  • Qualitative optical properties of minerals
  • Micro-hardness and reflectance of ore minerals, microchemical reactions, if necessary
  • Secondary alteration
  • Association with other minerals

3)   Description of peculiarities of microtexture  and microstructure

4)   Definition of paragenesis and sequence of mineral formation

5)   Conclusion: To summarize sequence of formation and alteration of minerals.

Brief mineragraphical description:

1)      Opaque minerals (ore minerals) composition by their content

2)      Brief description of ore minerals

3)      Brief description of peculiarities of microtexture  and microstructure

6)   Conclusion: To summarize in brief the sequence of formation and alteration of minerals.
